I didn’t know how absolutely addicted I was to the plug-in until it didn’t look quite right with WP3. Hope to see an update soon!

Also, I’d love to right a blog post about the plug-in if you update it (hope that serves as a little encouragement and motivation).

    =)

I’ve just finished testing against the final WP 3.0 release, and I’ve got a couple of small bits to finish off, I also need to test its behaviour with a few other plugins, then I’ll stick up on one of my blogs for a final run through, after that it should be ready to go. Hopefully before the end of the weekend (if not, early next week).

Thank you so much! I highly appreciate your work, it’s people like you that make WordPress a joy to use.

I have to say the same thing as both the above. “Thank you so much! I highly appreciate your work, it’s people like you that make WordPress a joy to use.” and “I didn’t know how absolutely addicted I was to the plug-in until it didn’t look quite right with WP3. Hope to see an update soon!”.

    What I am seeing is…

    (a) rather grainy look to the characters in the side-bar menu and the hover menus

    (b) a small white line to the left or below each of the icons (depending on whether you are using custom width or not)

    (c) this gets worse and the sidebar line spacing increases as the sidebar width increases), and

    (d) another small white line below the left pointing chevron/triangle which connects the hover menu to the sidebar which appears when the hover opens and follows the hover menu selection up and down the sidebar.

But I still prefer it, warts and all, over Matt’s original. I just add the second option of blue menus to the mix.

    a) Are you using Safari (or another webkit-based browser) because I’ve noticed something similar. It looks like its caused by the text-shadow thats on the menu items, webkit seems to change the font-weight (or at least its appearance) when the shadow is applied. I don’t want to lose the shadow if possible, but I’ll see if there is anything I can do

    b) I saw the same thing after I upgraded one of my personal blogs, however it seems to be fine now, I think this problem was that it was loading a cached image. Once the image cleared and it loaded the new version it was ok, haven’t spotted it since. Let me know if it doesn’t sort itself out.

    c) see above, let me know if doesn’t sort itself out.

    d) didn’t notice that on my blog, but it will most likely be the same issue as its using the same image (yes, the line between each of the main menu items is an image)

Hi Dean. No, I am using Chrome. And unfortunately its not improved. So much so, actually, that I was getting headaches from the eyestrain. All the menu white on black characters look as if they are out of focus or pixelated. Anyway, sad to say, I’ve gone back to Matt’s original until a cure is found or a new version makes the problem go away.

Chrome is based on webkit :)
This all looks fine in Firefox and IE; however, being a chrome user myself, I’d love to find out if Dean can create some kind of IF-ELSE condition based on the Browser ID string to keep the shadow for non-webkit browsers, or some kinda wonderful html 5 fix for the webkit ones.
